Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi

In particolare riguardo a:

At the end of the course the students will be able:

to demonstrate their skills in the management of information and computer systems, in the communication with professionals, suppliers and users of the service; to use information and computer systems to analyze data, statistical data in particular to apply the knowledge acquired to the methodology of the research and the development of research programs, making use of the results to improve the quality of treatment.

In particular:

- Knowledge and understanding. The teaching, composed of three parts, intends to allow: a) the acquisition of knowledge sufficient to permit to understand the operations of information and management systems found on the scientific literature; b) the knowledge quantitative methods for updating the scientific knowledge through the development of statistical tools, useful for planning of a research process combined with the knowledge of some analytical methods to choose and use as a professional.
- Applying knowledge and understanding. The teaching, composed of three parts, intends to teach: a) the basics of research methodology and the development of research programs, applying the statistical results in order to improve the quality of treatment; b) the main technical information and technology for processing information and demonstrate skills in the management of information systems and information technology.
- Making judgements. The course will put students in a position to understand the reasons of use of computer tools and research methodologies, and will allow them to set up research processes.
- Communication skills. The course provides the skills needed to communicate and exchange with correctness of language the results of research methodologies and statistics, also using computer and information systems.
- Learning skills. Through discussions and experimentation in the classroom, the course aims to exercise the ability to access and use the methods of statistical research related to audiometric and vestibular issues, through the information technology tools, starting from scientific literature on the specific and related sectors, judging critically it and elaborating the information in a personal way.

The exam is composed by three written tests on each of the three modules that constitute the syllabus. An additional oral examination is considered when a better confirmation of the skills acquired is required.
The final grade is the average of the individual modules grades.
The written exams consist of open questions and calculation exercises. With these questions we intend to evaluate the understanding of the arguments and the student's ability to apply them to specific cases.
The final grade is expressed in 30ths and is valid for one year.
